ARF's Visiting Animal ProgramTony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation's pet therapy program supports acute care, rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living facility patients/residents by accepting invitations to visit with cats and dogs who are temperament-qualified for the experience. Teams routinely visit special education schools, libraries, and after school day care programs. Since 2002, the ARF Therapy Animal Team (58 people and 63 pet pals) has made over 35 facility visits each month, making pet hugs available to over 28,000 people each year.
